The exam does not test legal knowledge; it tests whether you can read a question in Lithuanian and recall a specific rule: who appoints, how many years, what share of votes. Four weeks of 30 or 40 minutes a day is enough for most people if you follow a plan.
Week by week
- Week 1. Read chapters I–IV with translation. Learn the state symbols, rights and duties, and the numbers in chapters I–II.
- Week 2. Chapters V–VII: Seimas, President, Government. This is half of the exam. Practise with “Focus on numbers”.
- Week 3. Chapters VIII–XIV and the constituent acts. “Focus on terms” until 90% accuracy.
- Week 4. One mock exam a day. Review mistakes via the article links. A steady 17–18 out of 20 means you are ready.
Exam-day tips
- Read the question to the end: in Lithuanian the key word often comes last (“…negali”, “…ne mažiau kaip”).
- Eliminate the clearly wrong option first, then choose between two.
- Numbers are the most common slip: 3/5 vs 2/3, 15 vs 30 days, 21 vs 40 years. Re-read the Numbers table on the morning of the exam.
- Never leave a question blank: there is no penalty for a wrong answer.
- Arrive 30 minutes early with an identity document. Dictionaries and phones are not allowed.
How to measure readiness
A steady 17 or 18 of 20 in the mock exam three days in a row. If your score jumps between 12 and 18, you are guessing: go back to “My mistakes” and to the numbers.
